Coal Harbour is a 20 minute drive from Port Hardy on a paved road. Mining,
fishing, whaling and logging have all played a part in its varied and
interesting history. A flying boat station during WW11, there still many old RCAF buildings standing in the community.

Looking at the 6 meter jawbone of
a Blue Whale you are reminded that Coal Harbour was the last whaling station in Canada. Today Coal Harbour : Port Hardy, Vancouver Island are great places to go fishing, kayaking, view the wildlife, land and marine or just relax and walk the beach. It is fast becoming an
Artisan village with close to a dozen resident artists and their studios to
explore.

Our Port Hardy B&B accommodations, the Dolphin House is a cedar home with 3 comfortable bedrooms, guests share
bathrooms, sitting room, dining room, large deck and the garden. We strive
to be as allergy free as possible and use only environmentally friendly
cleaning and laundry products. Our Port Hardy, accommodation's multi terraced garden, ,just steps from
the ocean, is pesticide free. Our Vancouver Island B&B serves an exceptional breakfast and
excellent coffee, with homemade bread, jam and baked goods. After your day
of Vancouver Island adventure, we invite you to relax and sit around a camp fire, listen to
the ocean splashing on the shore, breathe the sea washed air. Ahh bliss.
